NEET, formerly known as AIPMT, is the mandatory entrance exam for students seeking admission into MBBS and BDS programs in medical and dental colleges across India. This test is also crucial for students aspiring to pursue MBBS abroad.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is responsible for conducting this examination. Previously, CBSE was in charge of administering the test, but now NTA, an independent autonomous and self-sufficient premier testing organization, conducts it.

The exam offers 90,000 seats in various MBBS and BDS colleges across India and is typically held in May each year. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it will be conducted in September.

Aspiring medical professionals must have Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology as mandatory subjects in their Class 10th and 12th and should have cleared these subjects. Mathematics scores are not taken into consideration for the NEET-undergraduate exam (NEET-UG).

The NEET exam will be conducted online and will be available in 11 different languages, including English, Hindi, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, Urdu Bengali, Telugu, Kannada, and Assamese.

The test duration is three hours, and the examinee must answer 180 questions. The exam paper is primarily divided into three sections: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology).

The application form for NEET Exam 2022 will be released in November 2021. Applicants interested in taking the NEET 2022 can visit the official website for NEET to access the application form from November 2021 onwards.
